The third edition keeps the materials of the second edition, including the narratives, more or less intact, barring a few minor changes here and there. But the most important aspect of the new edition is its dedication of the father of our nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. I find it extremely fitting that a book that records the richness and variety of the life of Bangladesh and the enduring qualities of the land would begin with tribute to the man who led the country to its independence. If it weren’t for Bangabandhu, Bangladesh would wouldn’t be a proud nation of today, out achieving not only Pakistan in its short history in most of the social development indices, but also India in many areas. His sagacity, his leadership quality and vision were behind the birth of this nation. Without the creative freedom that Bangabandhu bestowed on the nation as a legacy, people like Nadeem Qadir would not probably be forthcoming with their inspiring works. But it is quite rare to see a book – any book, for that matter – going through third edition in this country, that My Beautiful Bangladesh has achieved this feat is a testimony to Qadir’s ability to weave a series of find tales but through narratives and pictures. I am sure this edition will also be exhausted pretty soon.

Nadeem anchored NTVs popular flagship programme \"Frankly Speaking,\" an English-language talk show, until February 2006. The programme, which he conceived, is the first of its kind in Bangladesh. His guests included former Filipino President Fidel Ramos, United Nations envoy Nafis Sadik, French Foreign Trade Minister. Dr Mohammad Shahta Zarab Pakstiman ambassador and dean of the diplomatic corps, US envoy Harry K. Thomas as well as the Charge De Affaires Judith Chammas, besides British envoys David Carter and Anwar Choudhury. He started anchoring with the private Ekushey Television (ETV) when it was first launched and worked for it briefly after it resumed operation in 2007 as the editor, defence and international affairs. Nadeem heads Katha Communication, which he set up for making television documentaries and to offer media consultancy. He produced the first theme documentary for the military called \"Our Glorious Armed Forces\" and later on, a major peacekeeping operation named \"Mission to Sudan.\" He is the only Bangladeshi working journalist to have been awarded the United Nations Correspondents Association s Dag Hammarskjold Memorial Fellowship, one of the most prestigious in international journalism. Nadeem was also the youngest columnist of the leading Daily Star newspaper with his \"In Fools Paradise?\" column, which was put together in a book format in 2003. His first book \"Bangladesh: Realities of Democracy and Cases\" was published in 1994 Nadeem has presented papers on media both at home, notably at the National Defence College and Defence Services Command and Staff College, and abroad, besides giving lectures to students studying journalism at a number of Dhaka-based private universities. A student of International Relations of the Dhaka University, Nadeem has been a prolific wnter since his student days and continues to write for a number of publications either in his own or using a pen name. Nadeem is a product of Bangladesh\'s 1971 Independence War. His father -- Lieutenant Colonel M. Abdul Qadir -- is among the country\'s well-known martyrs and his mother - late Hasna Hena Qadir \" was a prominent activist against religious fundamentalism. A bachelor, he loves to travel, read and write. His first Bengali-language novel called \"Oshmheen-Oshrupaat (Invisible Tears) is expected to be published this year.
