He was a unorthodox visionary leader who lead our people ahead of the time. He dreamt the independent Bangladesh long back in 1957 while he said good-bye to the West Pakistan. He lead the nation towards this direction with his relentless struggle for democracy, secularism, exploitation free society and that the causes of toiling masses. He was a rare personality in our politics who was indeed a selfless sacrific and uncompromising fighter for emancipation of the exploited people. Politics of Moulana Bhasani was not altogether different subject form spiritual life, rather he was spiritual leader as well. But religion was never main track of politics. He was rightly known as “Majlum Jononeta” meaning, the leader of the oppressed. To him the struggle to end the oppression of man by man and establish justice was the essence of religion. The compilation of articles in this volume is intended to shed some light on the Moulans’s politico-religious philosophy and his political style.
