Joi Bangla
Joi Bangla by Muntassir Mamoon is a remarkably well-written Juvenile novel. Its main theme borders on the historical events of 1969-71. It is about how some of the young men and women had fought for their freedom and independence. ‘Joi Bangla’ was the keyword for the younger generation as well as for the mass people during that violent period. The Slogan ‘Joi Bangla’ was the powerful political weapon for them to wage a struggle against Pakistanis. Mamoon’s description is very lively and tangible. Prof. Kabir Chowdhury has skillfully translated the novel into English.
Muntassir Mamoon, Professor of History at Dhaka University was born in Dhaka. He did his MA and Ph.D from Dhaka University. He is eminently known as a historian and a writer. He has written a number of books in the different genres of literature. He is a recipent of many awards including the Bangla Academy Award and Ekushey Padak.
