The Holy City Makka
Makka is the chosen land of God for the reason best known to Him. The land mass beneath the House of Kaaba was the initial point of land surface in the process of creation of the earth. The House of Kaaba is the oldest house of worship on the earth. It is also known as the ‘Baitullah’(the House of God). This is most highly venerated of all the houses of worship. Makka is declared as the safest place by God. It is that holy place where the parents of human Adam and Hawa (Eve) met for the first time in this world after many years of their expulsion from paradise. The place is full of evidences of the mercy of God for human, the best creation of Him. It emerged as if the living museum of God on earth. The God Himself promoted this place as the ‘world stage of rehearsal’ of religious belief of monotheism which continued through the preaching of His messengers, called prophets. This place is the chosen school of education and practices of faith of God. The author tried to dig out the treasure and narrated the history of this holy place for the readers irrespective of faith in religion.
লেখালেখির শুরু সেই ছাত্রজীবনে। তাঁর লেখা সংবলিত প্রথম প্রকাশিত গ্রন্থ বেলতৈল গ্রামের জরিমন ও অন্যান্য। এর অন্যতম সহ-লেখক তিনি। শান্তিতে নোবেল বিজয়ী ড. মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস সম্পাদিত এবং গ্রামীণ ব্যাংক কর্তৃক ১৯৮১ সালে প্রকাশিত এই গ্রন্থটি পরে ইংরেজিতে Jorimon and Others of Beltoil Village নামেও প্রকাশিত হয়। ১৯৫৫ সালে তদানীন্তন ঢাকা জেলার (বর্তমান নরসিংদী জেলা) পলাশে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন তিনি। শৈশব-কৈশোর কেটেছে শীতলক্ষ্যার পাড়ে বর্তমান পলাশ উপজেলায় এক অপরূপ প্রাকৃতিক নৈসর্গের মাঝে। চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে অর্থনীতিতে বিএ (অনার্স)সহ এমএ, এলএলবি এবং যুক্তরাজ্যের ওয়েলস্ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে এমএসসি ডিগ্রি লাভ করেন তিনি। কর্মজীবনের শুরুতে কলেজে অর্থনীতির শিক্ষকতা করেছেন। উকিল হতে চেয়েছিলেন, পরে যোগ দিয়েছেন সিভিল সার্ভিসে। ঘুরেছেন পৃথিবীর অনেক দেশ, দেখেছেন প্রাচীন মানুষের হারিয়ে যাওয়া অনেক সভ্যতা। মানব সভ্যতার এসব আদি নিদর্শনকে ঘিরে মানুষ সম্পর্কে জানতে ও লিখতে তাকে অনুপ্রাণিত করেছে। তাঁর লেখা গ্রন্থসমূহের মধ্যে মুক্তিযুদ্ধে নরসিংদী, দাস প্রথা, দাস বিদ্রোহের কথা, মানুষের পৃথিবী, বাংলার সাহসী মানুষের কথা, সক্রেটিস, পবিত্র মক্কা নগরীর ইতিকথা, The Holy City Makka, কোরআনের কথা ও কাহিনী, পেশোয়ার থেকে কন্যাকুমারী, ইউরোপ ও আমেরিকায় উল্লেখযোগ্য। এই উপন্যাসের মাধ্যমে কথাশিল্পী হিসেবে তাঁর সার্থক আত্মপ্রকাশ। ***** Siraz Uddin Sathi was born in the greater Dhaka district in 1955. He passed his childhood in the excellence of natural beauty at his birthplace Palash on the bank of river Shitalakhya. Since then he bears immense thrust for searching knowledge about the nature and human being. He was educated in the University of Chittagong and the University of Wales in UK. He studied Economics, Transport Economics and Law. He was a lecturer of Economics in colleges in his early life. Later on, he has chosen his career as a civil servant. He continued his search for the knowledge of humankind and nature. By then, he got deeper interest in comparative religious faith.This led him to author this book following his earlier publication on this subject in Bangla. His first publication was Jorimon of Beltoil Village, as a co-author which was edited by his teacher, Noble Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus. His other books are- Mukti Juddhey Narsingdi (on Liberation War and the events took place at that time in Narsingdi district), Pobitra Makka Nogorir Itikotha (Holy City Makka), Das Protha (World Slavery) and Manusher Prithibi (Human on the Earth) published by Adorn Publication.
