Brigadier General (Retd) HRM Rokan Uddin, psc, PhD was born in 1958 and has had a distinguished career in the Bangladesh Army, where he served with honor, professionalism, and unwavering dedication. A graduate of Chittagong University, he was commissioned into the East Bengal Regiment in 1979. Throughout his extensive service, he held numerous Command, Staff, and instructional roles, contributing significantly to the defense and security of the nation. His military journey includes serving as a United Nations military observer during Namibia's independence in 1989-90 and commanding infantry regiments and brigades in the challenging terrain of the Chittagong Hill Tracts during the insurgency. Brigadier General Rokan Uddin has attained a Master’s degree in Defense Studies and Political Science from National University and earned his PhD in Security and Risk Management in 2008. He is also an alumnus of the prestigious Defense Services Command and Staff College in Mirpur and the Army Command College in China. Beyond his military achievements, Brigadier General Rokan Uddin is an accomplished writer, contributing regularly to national and defense publications.
